Applecross is a beautiful Wilmington community located right off Montchanin Road (also known as route 100). This section of the road is part of the Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway, a National Scenic Byway and Delaware Byway. The homes, built on land formerly owned by the Carpenter family, was developed recently into 24 stately homes, each on an acre, but preserving a second acre of land as common grounds. This gives all the appearances of a much larger lot size, which is needed given the size of the homes. The community was built by Thompson Builders out of nearby Pennsylvania. It is somewhat rare to find homes such as these on public sewer in the Greenville area, which just adds more charm to these impressive homes.
