Voted one of the 100 Best Places To Live in the United States, Pike Creek (or more correctly but rarely used The Pike Creek Valley) is an area of rolling hills noted for athletic endeavors. Whether you like to run, bicycle, walk, swim, play tennis or golf, Pike Creek is a mecca. Known as a first choice for young families, it also contains our most ethnically diverse neighborhoods. A lot of the "young families" have stayed long enough to be retirees and others.

I think it's fair to say Pike Creek has a little bit of something for everyone. Before 1970 it was farms and cattle grazing. Now it's young people running up the business ladders, established managers, lots of entrepreneurs, and everything in between. The real estate area takes its name from the tiny Pike Creek that bisects the valley. No map identifies the Pike Creek area, but everyone who lives here knows where it is (well, approximately anyhow). The Pike Creek Shopping Center is the main shopping experience, but the Shoppes at Limestone Hills are also there. Kirkwood Highway (Route 2) is the main commercial road from Wilmington to Newark and it's only 2-3 miles away. The Christiana Mall and Interstate 95 are only 5 miles away.
