Love being outdoors? You picked the right place! Delaware ranks 5th in the nation for bicycle friendly! And with four state parks and 55 city parks, you have plenty of recreation to choose from!
For the bicycling enthusiast there are many road and mountain bike trails throughout Wilmington and nearby towns. The Wilmington Grand Prix is a yearly event that brings cyclist from all over the country. The new canal trail just opened along the C & D canal. It will have 16 miles of scenic river views to ride your bike or walk with stations along the way to rest.
If running is your sport of choice, Wilmington has many running clubs to choose from and most parks have walking/running trails. Several marathons are scheduled throughout the year including the Delaware Marathon.
For baseball lovers, Wilmington is proud to have the Wilmington Blue Rocks as their home team! Beautiful sports complex down on the Riverfront is host to this great team and their fans. They are a minor league team for the major league Kansas City Royals. Great times with family and friends routing for the home team!
